Note, all standard litre prices are those quoted by www.milkprices.com and are based on the following:
The liquid standard litre 4% bf, 3.3% protein, 30,000/ml Bactoscans, 200,000/ml SCC, 1 million litres a year on EODC but before seasonality, monthly profile payments, balancing, B price additions, capital retentions or annual incentive schemes. The manufacturing standard litre is to exactly the same specification with the exception of 4.2%bf and 3.4% protein.

3.75ppl milk price increase for suppliers to Meadow Foods – from 1st July

Having been ahead of the pack for June Meadows latest increase takes their liquid standard litre price to 46ppl manufacturing standard litre 46.625 ppl which is now the GB 1st July bar which some of Meadows smaller competitors appear to be struggling to achieve.

This increase takes producers manufacturing standard litre price to 46.85ppl and based on a liquid standard litre to 45.25ppl.  All over agreed base volume litres supplied in May will receive 53.10ppl excluding any seasonality.  (AMPE 55.10ppl – 2ppl)

Sainsburys aligned are extremely unhappy with many voting with their feet

“Sainsburys have lost significant volume in the last four months (AKA 2022) due to resignations/retirement however resignations are understood to be almost raining in. Due to the fact those resigning have had to give notice the loss of volume is not an immediate problem to Sainsburys but it’s a train heading at speed towards them.  Sainsburys have informed staff, Kite and some farmers that they need to attract/recruit additional volume to remain compliant as an aligned pool and their solution is jaw dropping.

160 Dairy Farmers (2%) quit the GB Dairy industry in the last 12 months

AHDB Dairy have concluded their April 2022 survey of the main GB milk buyers and around 7880 dairy farmers remain in business with 160 having left in the last 12 months. The average milk output per farm is 1.57 million litres.
