Note, all standard litre prices are those quoted by www.milkprices.com and are based on the following:
The liquid standard litre 4% bf, 3.3% protein, 30,000/ml Bactoscans, 200,000/ml SCC, 1 million litres a year on EODC but before seasonality, monthly profile payments, balancing, B price additions, capital retentions or annual incentive schemes. The manufacturing standard litre is to exactly the same specification with the exception of 4.2%bf and 3.4% protein.

Red Tractor Chair to Quit

Following last week’s surprise revelation that Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe effectively voted for lower food standards, it has been announced she is standing down from her position as Chairman on November 12th after a 3-year term of office. The best Red Tractor and the Baroness could come up with is that she had decided not to seek a second term of office, which in itself has resulted in raised eyebrows.

Calls for Red Tractor Chairman to Stand Down Immediately

There are loud calls for Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe to immediately stand down as charman of Red Tractor following her surprise decision to effectively vote for lower food standards.  It’s a jaw dropping decision by the Baroness, who on Tuesday voted against Lord Curry’s amendment to include powers in the new Agriculture Bill aimed at protecting British farmers in a post Brexit world from floods of cheap food imports produced to lower standards.

0.9ppl Milk Price increase to 30.66ppl for Arla Conventional Members – from 1st November

Arla continue to be the main GB farmgate milk price pace setter having today announced a further 0.9ppl November increase which will once again have several milk purchasers scratching their heads as to how they can keep up.  This latest increase takes producers manufacturing standard liquid litre price to 30.66ppl and based on a liquid standard litre to 29.

GDT Auction up 0.4% today for a third consecutive time

Todays auction saw a 0.4% lift in the average price achieved to US $3159 tonne. This is the third consecutive auction increase. Total quantity sold was 34,648 tonnes. Notable movements were:  Butter up 3.3% to average $3678 tonne  Cheddar up 3.0% to average $3803 tonne  WMP up 0.3% to average $3037 tonne  SMP down 0.2% to average $2851 tonne

0.5ppl Milk Price increase for suppliers to South Caernarfon Creameries Co-op from 1st November

Only two weeks ago SCC declared no change for November so this increase came as a surprise bonus and is as a result of a strong set of financials and performance in the first half of the year.  The extra 0.5ppl takes producers www.milkprices.com standard manufacturing litre price to 28.53ppl and based on a liquid standard litre to 27.57ppl.

This increase takes members www.milkprices.com manufacturing standard litre price to 28.69ppl and 27.75ppl based on a liquid standard litre. For First Milk’s Tesco Cheese Group of farmers, the manufacturing standard litre price increases to 30.19ppl.

Stand On Milk Price for suppliers to Lancashire Dairies/Pakeeza – From 1st October

This maintains base liquid standard litre price to 27ppl, however note this base excludes bonuses which the vast majority of its producers qualify for e.g; grazing bonus etc which increases the standard litre price to a minimum of 28.5ppl with some ticking the boxes and achieving 30ppl plus.
